Dirk Nowitzki’s season-high 46 points Saturday night led the Dallas Mavericks to a 103-99 win over Oklahoma City.

Despite Nowitzki’s outburst, Dallas trailed most of the contest and was behind 91-89 following a layup by Thunder rookie Russell Westbrook with 5:30 remaining.

Nowitzki made two foul shots with 17.4 seconds left for a 101-97 Dallas advantage, and OKC was done.

Jason Terry, the only other player in double figures for Dallas, scored 28 points with four rebounds and six assists as the Mavericks won for the 11th time in their last 13 games.

Jeff Green’s 25 points and six rebounds led Oklahoma City. Kevin Durant scored 22 points with eight rebounds.

Westbrook had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Desmond Mason added 12 points and three rebounds for the Thunder, who lost their sixth straight despite outrebounding Dallas 48-38.
