COL BKB: Villanova 70, LaSalle 59

Corey Stokes had 18 points and helped No. 12 Villanova pull away late in the first half Sunday when the Wildcats went on to defeat LaSalle 70-59.

The game was tied with 9:32 left in the opening period, but Villanova closed the half on an 18-8 run. The lead grew to as much as 19 in the second half.

Villanova (10-1) has won two straight since suffering its lone loss of the season to Texas. LaSalle fell to 4-4.

Scottie Reynolds scored 13 for the Wildcats.

The Explorers were led by 16 each from Kimmani Barrett and Rodney Green.

Villanova held LaSalle to 37 percent shooting and the Explorers made four of 14 from three-point range.
