NBA: Denver 98, Dallas 88

J.R. Smith scored 27 points and Carmelo Anthony had 23 Monday to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 98-88 victory over Dallas.
Anthony also had eight rebounds in the Nuggets’ fourth straight win and seventh in their last eight. Chauncey Billups added 15 points, eight assists and five rebounds.
The Nuggets are 16-4 since acquiring Billups from Detroit in the trade that sent Allen Iverson to the Detroit Pistons.
Dirk Nowitzki had 27 points and 10 boards and Jason Terry scored 19 for the Mavericks, who have won 11 of their last 14 games.
