Rick Jackson’s 14 points Wednesday led five players in double figures who carried 11th-ranked Syracuse to an 82-60 win over unranked Canisius.

During a sterling effort off the Syracuse bench, Jackson added eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Syracuse quickly expanded a 43-34 halftime advantage with a 7-0 run to begin the final 20 minutes, and from that point (50-34), its lead was in double digits.

Paul Harris scored 13 points with eight rebounds.

Arinze Onuaku and Jonny Flynn scored 12 points apiece, and Eric Devendord added 10 points with four assists for the Orange (10-1), who bounced back from their lone defeat, 72-69, to Cleveland State Monday when Cedric Jackson sank a lengthy three-pointer with time expiring.

Canisius was led by Frank Turner’s 18 points and six assists.

Julius Coles scored 17 points with seven rebounds, while Elton Frazier added 10 points and six rebounds for the Golden Griffins (3-7), who have lost four in a row.
