COL BKB: Duke 99, N.C.-Asheville 56
Kyle Singler scored 14 points Wednesday and No. 6 Duke, playing for the first time in 11 days, brushed aside North Carolina-Asheville 99-56.
Singler also pulled down eight rebounds. Gerald Henderson scored 14 points and Jon Scheyer had 13.
Duke (9-1) had not played since losing for the first time this season, an 81-73 setback against Michigan.
North Carolina-Asheville (4-6) was led by 15 points and nine rebounds from Reid Augst. The Bulldogs’ tough schedule this year has also included losses to North Carolina and Tennessee.
The Bulldogs had a one-point lead 5 minutes into the contest, but Duke went on a 13-2 run and did not slow up the rest of the game.
Although the schools are located in the same state, this was their first meeting.
