NBA: Chicago 115, LA Clippers 109 (OT)
Back-to-back jumpers by Luol Deng gave Chicago the lead in overtime Wednesday and the Bulls went on to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 115-109.
A four-point play by Ben Gordon with 20 seconds left in regulation allowed the Bulls to force overtime and they then overcame a quick three-point deficit in the extra period. The Clippers had a three-game winning streak snapped.
Gordon brought the Bulls within one with his three-pointer as time was running out in regulation and he was fouled by Eric Gordon on the play. The resulting free throw sent the game into overtime tied at 106-106.
The Clippers’ Zach Randolph scored the first three points of the extra period, after which Deng hit his two jumpers for a 110-109 Chicago lead.
Randolph then committed an offensive foul and Derrick Rose converted a three-point play to give the Bulls a four-point advantage. Larry Hughes next stole the inbounds pass to clinch the Chicago win.
Drew Gooden led Chicago with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Rose scored 16. Marcus Camby had 19 points and a career-best 27 rebounds for the Clippers.
