Ball State names its next football coach
Offensive coordinator Stan Parrish has signed a four-year contract to become the head football coach at Ball State University.
Parrish was BSU’s offensive coordinator for the past three seasons and its quarterbacks coach in 2005.
We are extremely excited Coach Parrish has agreed to become the head football coach at Ball State,
said Dr. Jo Ann Gora, the university president, on the school’s Web site. He has been instrumental to our program’s success.
Parrish succeeds Brady Hoke, who left Dec. 16 to fill a similar vacancy at San Diego State.
Gora said Parrish will be paid a base salary of $350,000 with undisclosed additional income available through academic and performance incentives.
Parrish also has worked for the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and several other universities.
Ball State was 12-1 this season, losing only to Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference title game.
The Cardinals face Tulsa Jan. 6 at the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
