NBA: Charlotte 112, Memphis 83
Boris Diaw scored 26 points Friday and the Charlotte Bobcats broke the game open early in the second half to crush Memphis 112-83.
The Bobcats have won back-to-back games for only the second time this season. Prior to its overtime win over Chicago on Tuesday, Charlotte had lost seven in a row.
Memphis had won four straight prior to its current two-game skid.
Charlotte owned a 58-44 halftime lead before Darko Milicic scored the opening basket of the third quarter for the Grizzlies. The Bobcats then ran off 14 straight points to turn the game into a rout.
Emeka Okafor scored 25 and Gerald Wallace added 22 for the Bobcats.
Memphis was led by Rudy Gay with 17.
Memphis rookie O.J. Mayo failed to score in double digits for the first time in his pro career. He had done so in his first 25 games, two shy of the NBA record. He was held to seven points by the Bobcats.
