COL BKB: Pittsburgh 75, South Florida 62
Three-pointers by Levance Fields and Brad Wanamaker finished a key run early in the second half Wednesday, pushing No. 1 Pittsburgh past South Florida 75-62.
The unbeaten Panthers, enjoying their second week atop the national rankings, fought off an early challenge to run their record to 16-0. Pittsburgh is 4-0 in the Big East Conference.Tyrell Biggs led the way with 16 points while hitting 7-of-10 shots from the field. The Panthers made 10-of-17 shots from three-point range.
Dominique Jones made a jump shot 30 seconds into the second half to draw South Florida within 41-39, after which the Panthers went on a 14-5 run. Wanamaker's three-point shot came with 13:59 to play and put Pittsburgh in front by 11.
Jones scored 22 to lead the Bulls (6-10, 1-3), who have lost three of their last four.
