Jeff Teague scored eight points in a span of 43 seconds late in the first half Wednesday, igniting a run that carried Wake Forest over Boston College 83-63.
The third-ranked Demon Deacons finished off a big night for the nation’s top three college basketball teams. No. 1 Pittsburgh defeated South Florida 75-62 and No. 2 Duke pulled away from Georgia Tech 70-56.
Wake Forest remained unbeaten in 15 games this season and improved to 2-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Deacons held a 10-point lead with 6:30 to play in the opening period, then closed the half on a 19-7 run. Teague had two three-pointers and a dunk in that surge as part of his 29 points.
Al-Farouq Aminu added 15 for Wake Forest .
Boston College was led by Joe Trapani with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The Eagles (13-5, 1-2) have lost three straight since shocking then-No. 1 North Carolina on Jan. 4.
