NBA: Atlanta 97, LA Clippers 80

Josh Smith and Joe Johnson combined for 47 points Wednesday and Atlanta breezed past the struggling Los Angeles Clippers 97-80.
Los Angeles has lost 12 consecutive games, last winning at Indiana Dec. 19.
Atlanta halted a four-game skid by hitting 47 percent of its shots from the field and limiting the Clippers to three three-pointers in 14 attempts.
Smith scored 24 points and Johnson contributed five assists to go with his 23 points. They teamed to make 17-of-31 shots.
The Clippers were within six midway through the fourth quarter before Atlanta closed the game with a 22-11 run. Los Angeles was led by Al Thornton with 25 points.
