Veteran pitcher Bartolo Colon appears to be headed back to the Chicago White Sox, media reports say.

MLB.com and Fox Sports report Colon and the White Sox have agreed to a one-year contract. Colon must first pass a physical before the deal is consummated.

The 35-year-old former American League Cy Young Award winner pitched for Chicago in 2003, going 15-13 with a 3.87 earned-run average.

He then went to the Los Angeles Angels the next season and in 2005 won the Cy Young when he won 21 games.

His productivity dropped off sharply after that, however. He is 11-15 with a 5.5 ERA in 26 starts since then.

He spent last season with Boston.

In 316 games (313 starts) over 12 seasons with Cleveland, Montreal, the White Sox, Angels and Red Sox, Colon is150-97 with a 4.09 ERA.
