Veteran pitcher Bartolo Colon is back with the Chicago White Sox, the team announced Thursday.

Colon has a one-year deal with the Sox.

The 35-year-old former American League Cy Young Award winner pitched for Chicago in 2003, going 15-13 with a 3.87 earned-run average.

He then went to the Los Angeles Angels the next season and in 2005 received the Cy Young after winning 21 games.

Colon’s productivity dropped off sharply after that, however. He is 11-15 with a 5.5 ERA in 26 starts since then.

He spent last season with Boston and has also pitched for Cleveland and Montreal in a 12-year big-league career.
