Vijay Singh: ‘I’ll be OK’ after surgery
Professional golfer Vijay Singh says he believes his right knee will be stronger following arthroscopic surgery in Jacksonville, Fla.
Singh is expected to be sidelined about three weeks. He said his next PGA event should be the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Feb. 12-15.
The 46-year-old Singh had the operation Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
The doctor says I’ll be on crutches for a few days, and then I’ll be OK, Singh said Thursday.
I don’t consider this a big setback or anything. I think the knee will be much stronger in the long run and it is certainly better that it happened now compared to the middle of the season.
Singh tied for 27th place in the Mercedes-Benz Championship at Kapalua, Hawaii, last week.
