Sam Young scored 22 points Monday to lead the fourth-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers to a 78-60 victory over the eighth-ranked Syracuse Orange.
DeJuan Blair added 20 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Panthers (17-1, 5-1 Big East), who were coming off a 69-63 loss at 12th-ranked Louisville Saturday.
Levance Fields had 15 points and six assists for Pittsburgh, which beat the Orange for the 11th time in their last 14 meetings.
Andy Rautins scored 17 points to lead Syracuse (17-3, 5-2), which has lost two of its last three games. Syracuse lost at 14th-ranked Georgetown last Wednesday.
Syracuse held a 35-33 lead early in the second half, but Pittsburgh ran off nine straight points and was ahead 53-40 by midway through the period.
