COL BKB: Purdue 70, Minnesota 62
JaJuan Johnson scored 19 points Thursday and No. 18 Purdue built a big lead en route to a 70-62 victory over 20th-ranked Minnesota.
After losing its first two Big Ten Conference games, Purdue has won four straight league contests.
E'Twaun Moore added 16 points for the Boilermakers and Lewis Jackson had 12. Purdue (15-4, 4-2 Big Ten) established a 16-point advantage early in the second half and the Golden Gophers came no closer than six down the stretch.
Al Nolen scored 17 points to lead Minnesota (16-3, 4-3). The Gophers won their first 12 games this season before suffering a setback against Michigan State. They have now dropped two in a row.
This game marked the sixth time in the 171 meetings that the teams played when both were ranked in the Top 25.
