Langer wins Champions’ season-opener

Bernhard Langer closed with a 4-under-par 68 Sunday and won the Mitsubishi Electric Championship, the Champions Tour season-opener in Hawaii.
Langer’s total of 18-under 198 gave him a one-shot edge over Andy Bean, who carded a 66 in the final round at the Hualalai Golf Club.
There is nothing better than winning,
Langer said. It is just a wonderful place here at Hualalai and to play good golf on top of that is just a bonus.
Jay Haas (70) was third at 15-under and Mark McNulty (67) and Jeff Sluman (70) were at minus-14.
