Tiger Woods: ‘Return will be gradual’

PGA golfer Tiger Woods, writing on his personal Web site, says he thinks he’s on solid footing while he rehabs his surgically-repaired left knee.

Many people have asked me if my swing has changed since the surgery, the world’s top-ranked men’s golfer wrote on Tigerwoods.com. I’m doing all the things I’ been trying to do for a long time, but I can actually hit into my left leg without my bones moving. It’s a nice feeling!

The Stanford graduate, now a resident of Orlando, Fla., has not played since winning beating Rocco Mediate in a playoff at the U.S. Open last June.

Later, he disclosed that he played the entire tournament in pain and underwent reconstructive surgery.

He added Tuesday that his return will be gradual, based on his health and family situation.

His wife, Elin, is expecting a second child this spring.

As for a comeback to the PGA Tour, a lot depends on the baby. That takes precedent over anything I do golf-wise, Woods wrote.
