COL BKB: Washington 75, Stanford 68
Quincy Poindexter's 20 points and six rebounds Sunday helped No. 25 Washington escape with a hard-fought 75-68 Pac-10 victory against Stanford.
Washington's halftime lead was just 35-34, but the margin grew to 56-41 on Jon Brockman's jumper with 10:49 left. A jumper by Landry Fields drew Stanford within 66-63 with 2:21 remaining, but Washington held its lead until the final buzzer.
Brockman finished with 13 points with 12 rebounds. Isaiah Thomas scored 17 points, while Venoy Overton added 11 points, five assists and five steals for the Huskies (17-6, 8-3), who snapped a 15-game losing streak at Stanford's Maples Pavilion.
They had not beaten Stanford on the road since the 1993-94 season.
Fields led Stanford with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Anthony Goods scored 12 points, while Jeremy Green added 11 points and four rebounds for the Cardinal (14-7, 4-7), losers in four of their last five outings.
