Kiffin cited for recruiting violations

University of Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin has been admonished by the university for two minor recruiting violations, officials say.
UT's athletics department told the NCAA the violations occurred when recruits were on campus for official visits last month, university spokeswoman Tiffany Carpenter told The (Nashville) Tennessean.
She said the first incident occurred when a fog machine was used as a recruit entered Neyland Stadium during a visit, and the second happened when nine prospects took part in a mock press conference. Under NCAA rules, schools are prohibited from simulating a game experience for recruits during official visits.
The Tennessean said revelations of the violations came only days after SEC Commissioner Mike Slive publicly reprimanded Kiffin for telling team supporters that University of Florida coach Urban Meyer had committed a recruiting violation by calling a player who was on an official visit to Tennessee.
