COL BKB: Illinois 65, Indiana 52
Mike Davis and Mike Tisdale combined for 32 points and 16 rebounds Sunday, leading 20th-ranked Illinois to a 65-52 Big Ten victory over Indiana.
Davis had 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Tisdale also scored 16 with six rebounds and three blocked shots.
Illinois built a 38-21 halftime lead and quelled an Indiana comeback late in the second half. Its lead dwindled to 54-48 on Malik Story’s layup with 6:27 remaining.
However,following a timeout, Illinois scored 11 of the game’s final 18 points to record its third win in a row.
Nine players scored for the Fighting Illini (21-5, 9-4), who forced 13 turnovers, five on steals, and limited Indiana to a 41.9 shooting percentage.
Mike Roth was Indiana’s only player in double figures with 13 points (3-of-6 on 3-pointers).
Story and Verdell Jones III scored nine points apiece for the Hoosiers (6-18, 1-11), who have lost three in a row and 14 of 15.
