Webster in lead at Indonesia Open
Steve Webster's second consecutive round of 3-under-par 69 was worth the lead Friday halfway through the European PGA Tour's Indonesia Open.
Webster is at 6-under 138 after 36 holes, which is one stroke better than Jamie Donaldson, Simon Dyson and Jeppe Huldahl, who are tied for second. First-round leader Angelo Que, who had an 8-under 64 Thursday, had a 76 in the second round and is tied for fifth place at 4-under for the tournament.
Webster opened his round with 10 consecutive pars and slipped a stroke with a bogey at the par-4 11th hole. He got that back at No. 12 and, after three more pars, closed with three consecutive birdies.
I made a great birdie on the 12th with a 20-foot putt and all of a sudden I'm back in the game, Webster said.
The three birdies to finish were the icing on the cake really, but it was probably no more than I deserved after the way I played, because I was pretty consistent all day long.
Donaldson had two birdies and a bogey on the day while Dyson matched Donaldson's 71 with a round that included five birdies and four bogies. Huldahl had seven birdies and a bogey in moving from a tie for 66th after the first round to one stroke off the lead.
