Teemu Selanne’s goal at 10:21 of the third period Saturday boosted the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-3 victory against the Dallas Stars.

Selanne’s 20th goal this season came after an assist from Andrew Ebbett, and temporarily vaulted Anaheim into the seventh of eight playoff spots in the Western Conference, two points ahead of Minnesota, Dallas and Edmonton.

Anaheim got goals from Scott Niedermayer in the first and Corey Perry in the third. Perry’s 22nd had created a 3-3 tie at 8:50 of the third.

Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 30 saves on 33 shots for the Ducks, who improved to 3-2 on their six-game road trip.

Dallas’ Mike Ribeiro had two goals and an assist. Matt Niskanen scored the other goal, while Marty Turco gave up all four goals on just 18 shots in the Stars’ season-high fourth straight loss.

Both teams won twice in the four-game season series.
