NHL: Nashville 4, Columbus 2
Ryan Jones and Steve Sullivan scored late in a busy second period Thursday night, rallying the Nashville Predators to a 4-2 victory over Columbus.
The teams combined for five goals in the second stanza, which ended with Nashville holding a 3-2 lead on its way to a sixth straight victory.
Jones tied the game with 4:21 left in the second by firing a slapshot past Steve Mason. Sullivan scored on a backhander with 1:46 remaining for the game-winner.
Martin Erat gave Nashville some insurance 4:24 into the third and Pekka Rinne did the rest by stopping 31 shots.
Rick Nash and Jason Williams scored for Columbus, which has lost four out of six.
Nashville completed a five-game homestand by outscoring the opposition 27-11.
Steve Mason let in four goals on 23 shots for Columbus.
