Fight complicates Morris’ NCAA drive

Robert Morris University reports basketball coach Mike Rice says he hasn't decided what to do about the players who were involved in an off-campus fight.

The dust-up that led to guard Mezie Nwigwe being cited for simple assault by Pittsburgh police came at a bad time for Rice, who is getting his squad ready for Wednesday's NEC conference championship game and a possible berth in the NCAA tournament.

We're aware of what's going on, Robert Morris sports information director Jim Duzyk told the Pittsburgh Herald-Review. We're not going to make any comment until the investigation is complete."

Police said a number of players were involved in the altercation on the city's South Side early Saturday. No one was arrested.

The Colonials will face Mount Saint Mary's in the title tilt Wednesday night.
