No suspensions for Robert Morris players
Robert Morris University will not suspend any of its basketball players over an of-campus fight, the school announced Tuesday.
The dust-up that led to reserve guard Mezie Nwigwe being cited for simple assault by Pittsburgh police came at a bad time for Coach Mike Rice, who is getting his squad ready for Wednesday's Northeast Conference championship game and a possible berth in the NCAA tournament.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review said four players were involved in the South Side fracas, including Nwigwe, starters Jeremy Chappell, Rob Robinson and freshman Velton Jones. No one was arrested.
The Colonials will face Mount Saint Mary's in the title tilt Wednesday night.
