WBC: Cuba 16, Mexico 4

Three-run homers by Ariel Pestano and Frederich Cepeda in the seventh inning Thursday night lifted Cuba to a 16-4 win over Mexico in the World Baseball Classic.
Both teams advanced to the second round, where they will join South Korea and Japan in one of the two double-elimination tournaments.
Cuba earned the top seed from Pool B and will play Japan Sunday in San Diego. Mexico will take on South Korea to open the second round.
Michel Enriquez went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI and Yoennis Cespedes went 3-for-5 with a triple and an RBI for Cuba.
