Ohio State advances in Big Ten tournament

Evan Turner's team-high 18 points led Ohio State's 82-70 upset of sixth-ranked Michigan State in the Big Ten Conference semifinals in Indianapolis.

OSU led 34-29 at the half, then widened the margin to 54-41 with 11:24 left following a three-point play by B.J. Mullens and Jeremie Simmons' 3-pointer. From that point, Michigan State trailed by at least 10 points until the end.

Jon Diebler had 17 points and five rebounds. William Buford scored 14 with nine rebounds, and Mullens added 12 with five rebounds for the fifth-seeded Buckeyes (22-9), who will play either Purdue or Illinois in Sunday's final.

Kalin Lucas led Michigan State with 17 points and three rebounds.

Reserve Korie Lucious added 16 with three rebounds. Goran Suton scored 10 with eight rebounds, but high-scoring Raymar Morgan was held to just six points for the top-seeded Spartans (26-6), who have not been to the Big Ten final since winning back-to-back tournament titles in 1999 and 2000.
