James and Bryant earn NBA honors

LeBron James of Cleveland and Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers were named the NBA's top players for the week Monday.

James won the Eastern Conference award for the sixth time this season. He was second in the league with averages of 34 points, 10.8 assists and 8.8 rebounds for the week.

James is the 12th player in NBA history to have three consecutive triple-doubles. He also had his eighth career game of 50-plus points while the Cavaliers went 4-0 and clinched the Central Division title.

Bryant got his third Western Conference award this season after averaging 25.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in four games. He also helped the Lakers clinch the Pacific Division title with a 3-1 week.
