COL BKB: Louisville 79, Siena 72

Terrence Williams scored 24 points with 15 rebounds Sunday, helping Louisville eliminate upstart Siena 79-72 in a second-round NCAA Tournament game in Dayton.

The Cardinals, the tournament's overall No. 1 seed, faced a 63-57 deficit after a layup by Siena's Clarence Jackson completed a 12-0 run with 7:52 left, but gutted out the victory by later holding Siena scoreless for a 5 1/2-minute period.

Williams scored seven points in the late stages.

Samardo Samuels had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Earl Clark added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Cardinals (30-5).

They will play 12th-seeded Arizona in a Midwest Region semifinal in Indianapolis Friday.

Edwin Ubiles led Siena with 24 points and eight rebounds.

Alex Franklin scored 19 with seven rebounds, and Kenny Hasbrouck had 11 points and six rebounds for the ninth-seeded Saints (27-8), who forced 17 turnovers but lost the battle of the boards 47-32.

Their 27 wins this season was a school record.
