Ichiro Suzuki had four hits, including a game-winning two-run single in the 10th, to lead Japan past Korea 5-3 in Monday’s World Baseball Classic title game.

Seiichi Uchikawa had three hits and scored twice for Japan, including the decisive run in extra innings.

Korea tied the game in the ninth on an RBI single by Bum Ho Lee but Japan stormed back in the 10th.

Uchikawa singled, went to second on a sacrifice bunt and then took third on a single by Akinori Iwamura. After pinch-hitter Munenori Kawasaki popped out, Iwamura took second, setting up Suzuki’s game-winning single to center.

Yu Darvish got the win after pitching two innings in relief.
