WBC: Japan 5, South Korea 3 (10 innings)

Ichiro Suzuki delivered a game-winning two-run single in the 10th inning Monday, leading Japan past South Korea 5-3 in the World Baseball Classic title game.
Seiichi Uchikawa had three hits and scored twice for Japan, including the decisive run in extra innings.
South Korea tied the score in the ninth inning on an RBI single by Lee Bum-ho but Japan stormed back in the 10th.
Uchikawa singled, went to second on a sacrifice bunt and then took third on a single by Akinori Iwamura. After pinch-hitter Munenori Kawasaki popped out, Iwamura took second, setting up Suzuki’s two-run single to center. It was Suzuki’s fourth hit of the game.
Yu Darvish got the win after pitching two innings in relief.
