COL BKB: Penn State 71, Florida 62

Jamelle Cornley notched 23 points and 12 rebounds Tuesday, sending Penn State past Florida 71-62 and into the NIT semifinals.

Cornley's double-double helped earn the Nittany Lions a trip to New York City where they will face the winner of the Kentucky vs. Notre Dame matchup in the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden.

Cornley played despite a recently dislocated shoulder that caused him to miss the second-round game against Rhode Island. Even with his arm heavily taped, Cornley was a sizzling 11-of-14 from the field as Penn State tied a school record with its 25th win of the season.

Stanley Pringle added 15 points for Penn State (25-11) ,while David Jackson added 14 and Talor Battle 13.

Florida (25-11) had three players in double figures, including Erving Walker with 16, Alex Tyus with 15 and Nick Calathes with 10.

Florida got off to a good start and led much of the first half before Penn State took a 33-32 lead at the break.

The second half was all Nittany Lions, although the Gators pulled to within two points with 2:10 remaining. Penn State sank six free throws in the closing minutes to seal the victory.
