COL BKB: Notre Dame 77, Kentucky 67

Luke Harangody made four of Notre Dame's eight free throws over the final 1:30 Wednesday, lifting the Fighting Irish to a 77-67 NIT win over Kentucky.

Notre Dame reached the tournament's semifinals and will meet Penn State next Tuesday in New York.

Harangody led the way with 30 points and 11 rebounds, boosting Notre Dame to 21-14 for the season. The Fighting Irish have also defeated Alabama-Birmingham and Utah in the NIT.

Notre Dame owned as much as a 17-point lead in the second half, but the Wildcats (22-13) cut it to five when Perry Stevenson made a dunk with 2:42 to play.

The Fighting Irish held on, however, by converting all eight of their foul shots down the stretch.

Kyle McAlarney added 15 for Notre Dame and Ryan Ayers had 14. Kentucky was led by Jodie Meeks with 21.
