NBA: Philadelphia 96, Minnesota 88
Thaddeus Young reached the 20-point mark for the fifth straight game Wednesday — scoring 29 in leading Philadelphia past woeful Minnesota 96-88.
The 76ers went on an 11-point run in the fourth quarter to break open what had been a one-point game and went on to win their third in a row. They climbed within a half game of Miami for the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala both had 15 points for Philadelphia, although Iguodala made just 4-of-14 shots from the field.
Rodney Carney hit seven 3-pointers and scored 21 points to pace the Timberwolves, who have lost six in a row.
Minnesota shot a mere 36 percent from the field.
