Posted on: Saturday, 28 March 2009, 22:45 CDT

Mike Richards' goal in the second round of a shootout Saturday rallied the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders.

The Islanders blew a two-goal lead in the third period when Philadelphia scored three times.

Philadelphia's Joffrey Lupul scored twice and Scott Hartnell once in regulation. Martin Biron made 30 saves on 33 shots, and then foiled Frans Nielsen and Mark Streit in the shootout.

The Flyers have won three of their last four games and remain in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 92 points.

Following Pittsburgh's 4-3 win over the New York Rangers and Carolina's 2-1 victory against New Jersey, Philadelphia moved one point ahead of the Hurricanes and two ahead of the Penguins.

Radek Martinek and Jeff Tambellini scored while Yann Danis was beaten three times on 36 shots for the Islanders, who have lost four of five, and are out of the post-season picture.
