The 1-2 finish by Karrie Webb and Jiyai Shin at the LPGA tournament in Phoenix allowed each to move up one spot in the world women’s golf rankings.

Webb, already a Hall of Fame member, collected her first tournament title since 2006 with a 2-stroke victory over Shin at the J. Golf Phoenix tournament last weekend. Webb turned in a 5-under-par 67 Sunday to seal the victory.

That allowed her to move from ninth to eighth in rankings released Monday. Shin went from fourth to third.

Lorena Ochoa continued to have a strong hold on the women’s No. 1 ranking with Yani Tseng second. Paul Creamer was dropped from third to fourth by Shin’s move and Suzann Pettersen kept the No. 5 spot.

Angela Stanford is ranked sixth and Cristie Kerr is seventh. Helen Alfredsson switched places with Webb and is now ninth ahead of No. 10 Lee Seon-hwa.
