Cops: Burress cursed deputy during stop
Former New York Giants player Plaxico Burress unleashed a stream of threats and obscenities at a Florida deputy who pulled him over last month, officials say.
Broward County, Fla., Sheriff's spokeswoman Dani Moschella said Burress has until April 21 to respond to a March 18 citation for careless driving, which was allegedly greeted by the former NFL star with curses aimed at Deputy Donald Harris, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Tuesday.
Moschella said Burress hurled the same curse at Harris after each command during the 10-minute stop, and also allegedly threatened the deputy by saying he knew Broward County Sheriff Al Lamberti personally. Lamberti told the newspaper through a spokesman that he does not know Burress.
Burress was cited by Broward deputies earlier in March in Pompano Beach, Fla., on suspicion of aggressive driving, the Sun-Sentinel said.
