Jonathan Sanchez and three relievers combined to allow just three hits Friday and bring the San Francisco Giants a much-needed 2-0 victory over Arizona.
After winning two out of three at home against Milwaukee to open the season, the Giants went on the road and lost six straight.
San Francisco returned home Friday and received an outstanding pitching effort -- paced by a two-hit performance from Sanchez (1-1) over 6 2/3 innings. Brian Wilson recorded the last four outs to get his first save.
The Giants broke the scoreless tie in the fourth on Pablo Sandoval's two-out double and Bengie Molina's RBI single. Andres Torres added a home run in the eighth.
Dan Haren (0-3) was the hard-luck loser, giving up five hits and a run with six strikeouts and no walks over six innings.
Both teams completed the first 10 games of the season with 3-7 records.
