Chipper Jones and Yunel Escobar each had a homer and four RBI Saturday when the Atlanta Braves rolled to a 10-2 rout of the Cincinnati Reds.
Jones had two hits, including a three-run second-inning blast, while Escobar had three hits, including a two-run shot in the sixth, and scored three runs. David Ross had two runs, two hits and one RBI for the Braves, who have won three in a row.
Winner Derek Lowe (2-1) gave up two earned runs and just four hits in seven innings with two walks and eight strikeouts.
Cincinnati’s runs scored on a two-run second-inning homer by Alex Gonzalez. Ryan Hannigan had two of the six hits for the Reds, who have lost two straight after having won two straight and four of five.
Losing pitcher Bronson Arroyo (3-1) was torched for nine earned runs and nine hits in 5 2/3 innings with three walks and five strikeouts.
