MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 1, San Diego 0

Russell Martin worked a bases-loaded walk with two out in the ninth Friday to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a 1-0 win over San Diego.
After Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers and Jake Peavy of the Padres had staged a tremendous pitcher's duel, Duaner Sanchez (1-1) surrendered the game's only run by missing the strike zone on a 3-2 pitch to Martin, who had gone hitless in three at-bats.
Sanchez came on to start the ninth and allowed a leadoff single to Rafael Furcal. Orlando Hudson's grounder back to the pitcher erased Furcal at second, but Hudson moved to second on a wild pitch and Manny Ramirez was intentionally walked.
After James Loney struck out, Matt Kemp walked to load the bases.
Peavy and Martin battled through a 10-pitch at-bat, with Martin fouling off four in a row before earning the RBI walk that brought home Hudson.
The win went to Jonathan Broxton (3-0), who worked the top of the ninth.
Kershaw allowed four hits over seven innings and Peavy surrendered only two hits over eight.
