Torii Hunter had three RBI and Joe Saunders held Oakland to two runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings Monday in the Los Angeles Angels’ 5-2 win over the A’s.
Saunders (4-1) struck out seven and walked one. Jose Arredondo shut the A’s out in 1 1/3 inning of relief and Brian Fuentes earned his sixth save with a perfect ninth.
Mike Napoli went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, Chone Figgins had three hits and scored twice, and Hunter had two hits and a run scored for the Angels, who have won five of their last seven.
Brett Anderson (0-3) went 4 2/3 innings for Oakland, giving up five runs on nine hits and a walk with no strikeouts.
Kurt Suzuki hit a solo homer and Orlando Cabrera had two hits and scored a run for the A’s.
