Bengie Molina homered twice and drove in four runs Thursday and the San Francisco Giants beat Colorado 8-3.

Molina led San Francisco’s 12-hit attack with three of his own, including a second-inning solo homer and a two-run blast in the third. He drove in his fourth run with a seventh-inning groundout.

The Giants scored a run on a third-inning throwing error by losing pitcher Jason Marquis (4-2). Fred Lewis, Emmanuel Burriss and Jose Uribe all had two hits for the Giants, who earned a two-game series split.

Winner Matt Cain (3-1) allowed one hit in six scoreless innings with five walks and seven strikeouts.

Colorado scored on a solo homer by Brad Hawpe in the seventh and a two-run ninth-inning shot by Ian Stewart. Marquis gave up seven runs — five earned — and eight hits in six innings for the Rockies, who have split their last four games.
