Paulo Nagamura scored in the 54th minute Saturday and Chivas USA beat Real Salt Lake 1-0 for its third straight shutout victory.
The victory gave Chivas USA (7-1-1) 22 points — good for a nine-point lead over second place Seattle in the Western Conference.
Real Salt Lake (3-4-1) is in fifth place in the West with 10 points.
