Ross Ohlendorf allowed two hits over six innings and Nyjer Morgan delivered a key two-run single Wednesday, boosting Pittsburgh to a 5-2 win over St. Louis.

After losing eight straight games, the Pirates have won two in a row. It is their first two-game winning streak since April 25-26.

Ohlendorf (4-3) gave up a run and struck out five while winning for the fourth time in five starts. Matt Capps came on in the ninth and gave up an RBI single to Albert Pujols, but he then got Chris Duncan to hit into a game-ending double play and collected his sixth save.

Pittsburgh was clinging to a 2-1 lead before scoring three times in the sixth.

Brandon Moss drove in the first run of the inning with a fielder’s choice grounder and Morgan later singled to center to give the Pirates a 5-1 cushion.

Joel Pineiro (4-3) took the loss, giving up 11 hits and five runs over six innings. He has lost three starts in a row. St. Louis has dropped four of its last five.
