MLB: LA Dodgers 6, Florida 4
Sixth-inning home runs by Casey Blake and Xavier Paul started a Los Angeles comeback Friday and the Dodgers went on to defeat Florida 6-4.
The Marlins lost their fifth straight and have dropped 11 of their last 14. Their fall began after they had taken over the top spot in the National League East with a 14-8 record.
Florida took a three-run lead through five innings, thanks in part to a two-run homer by Cody Ross.
Los Angeles tied it with a three-run sixth that included the solo homers by Blake and Paul and a sacrifice fly by Andre Ethier.
The Dodgers took the lead for good in the seventh on a two-run single by Juan Pierre.
Jeff Weaver (2-0), who worked one inning of relief as the second of six Los Angeles pitchers, got the win. Jonathan Broxton walked two in the ninth, but picked up his ninth save.
Florida starter Chris Volstad (2-3) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits in six innings.
The Dodgers won their third straight after teammate Manny Rodriguez made a surprise appearance in the clubhouse to apologize for his 50-game suspension.
