Vicente Padilla worked eight innings Saturday while pitching the Texas Rangers to a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Padilla (3-2), a Nicaraguan right-hander, scattered 10 hits and three walks but allowed only three runs.

Josh Hamilton and Jarrod Saltalamacchia each had two RBI to help Texas to its sixth straight win.

C.J. Wilson earned his second save in two nights with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Angels John Lackey made his season debut but was ejected after his first pitch went behind the head of Rangers’ leadoff man Ian Kinsler, who hit two homers Friday, and his second pitch hit Kinsler in the side. Shane Loux (2-3) took over and was gave up four runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings.
