Kansas State wants to cancel Prince deal

Kansas State University alleges in a lawsuit it should not have to pay its former football coach Ron Prince $3.2 million as part of a 2008 agreement.
The university and its athletic corporation say in the Riley County District Court lawsuit the agreement between Prince and former Kansas State Athletic Director Bob Krause should be invalidated since the school's lawyers did not participate in its creation, the Kansas City Star said Thursday.

Interim Kansas State Athletic Director Jim Epps alleged in a statement about the August 2008 deal. This alleged deal was made without the knowledge of anyone else in the athletics department, including its attorney.
The clash over the deal, which would have Prince receiving university payments totaling $3.2 million between 2015 and 2020, comes after the former football coach received $1.2 million to be bought out of his contract.
The Star said attorney Neil Cornrich, who represents Prince, insists the deal is valid despite the university's claims.
