Speedway crash injures at least 11
Two buses collided at a speedway event, injuring at least 11 spectators in Obetz, Ohio, emergency officials said.
The buses were part of a Crash-A-Rama at the Columbus Motor Speedway featuring full-sized school buses and so-called monster trucks, the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch reported Sunday.
While performing figure eights at high speed Saturday night, one school bus hit the other from behind, sending it into a 4-foot concrete restraining wall in front of the crowded grandstand, the Dispatch reported.
Flying chunks of concrete cut and bruised at least 11 people, who were taken to area hospitals, Columbus Fire Capt. Scott Krummel said.
Last month, an observation tower at the speedway collapsed injuring six spectators.
