Vancouver to sell Olympic tickets online

May 29, 2009

The Vancouver (Canada) Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic Games will put 150,000 tickets on sale online to the public June 6.

In a release Friday, the committee said the tickets would be available on a first-come, first-served basis at www.vancouver2010.com. next Saturday morning.

That sale includes tickets to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as nightly Opening, Closing and Victory Ceremonies at each event.

This is a major release of tickets before the 2010 Winter Games, and is the best remaining opportunity for Canadian Olympic fans to get their hands on tickets, the committee’s vice president, ticketing and consumer marketing, Caley Denton, said in a statement. We want to make sure everyone’s ready, so take a minute to register a ticketing account if you don’t already have one. Tickets to every event will be available. We’ve worked hard to make as many tickets available as possible, and based on the enthusiasm shown by Canadians we anticipate demand will be high.
